What a top-up makes
$20 is about 15 five-second upscaled 1080p clips on Seedance 2.0.
Pick a model, an amount and a resolution. Each bar is how many seconds of video the same money buys at Tier 1.
Native or Upscaled
Upscaled or Native. Pick per shot.
Upscaled starts from the official Seedance model and adds our own super-resolution algorithm on top. For most social, ad and product videos the difference is hard to see. Drag the line to compare.

Where the saving comes from
Our algorithm, tier discounts, nothing charged for failures.
Our upscaling algorithm
The official model renders the clip, and our own super-resolution algorithm upscales it to 720p or 1080p. That is where the saving comes from: −30% on Seedance 2.0 and −20% on Seedance 2.5 for the same length.
Lower at the top tier
As your cumulative top-ups grow, your account moves up a tier and Upscaled gets cheaper again, down to −34% against the official price.
For failed generations
We hold the estimated cost while a clip renders and settle to the actual cost when it finishes. If it fails, the hold is released.
How pricing tiers work
Every account starts at Tier 1. Top up more to move up.
Your account starts on Tier 1. At $1,000 in cumulative top-ups it moves to Tier 2, at $10,000 to Tier 3, on its own, and every later clip bills at the lower rate.
Upscaled 1080p −30% on 2.0 and −20% on 2.5. Purchased credits last 12 months.
Upscaled 1080p −32% on 2.0 and −25% on 2.5.
Upscaled 1080p −34% on 2.0 and −30% on 2.5.
Tier 1 is below $1,000 in cumulative top-ups, Tier 2 starts at $1,000 and Tier 3 at $10,000. Gifts and credit grants count toward the total. Large volume? We set lower prices for large customers. Talk to sales.

Questions
Before you render
Which is the cheapest Seedance API?
At 1080p, ours, of the API platforms we checked on October 30, 2026. Per second at Tier 1: Seedance 2.0 Mini $0.12, against $0.174 at the lowest other platform; Seedance 2.0 Fast $0.192, against $0.348 at the lowest other platform; Seedance 2.0 $0.264, against $0.299 at the lowest other platform; Seedance 2.5 $0.459, against $0.588 at the lowest other platform.
Not at every resolution: at native 480p and 720p, and at 4K, other platforms can cost less. For 1080p video, Upscaled is the lowest price we found, and you start on it with your first top-up.
What does upscaled mean on Seedance?
The official Seedance model renders the clip, and our own super-resolution algorithm upscales it to 720p or 1080p. At Tier 1 it costs −30% on Seedance 2.0 and −20% on Seedance 2.5 against the official price at the same resolution. It can lose some fine detail compared with a native render.
Is this the official Seedance model?
Yes. Every clip starts on ByteDance’s official Seedance model, with your duration, aspect ratio and audio settings passed as you set them.
Which is the cheapest official direct Seedance API?
Native here: it runs on ByteDance’s official Seedance API with nothing in between, at −6% on Seedance 2.0 and −6% on Seedance 2.5 from your first top-up, down to −10% and −11% at the top tier. For the lowest price at 720p or 1080p, Upscaled costs less again.
When should I avoid upscaling?
For scenes with several people interacting, hands, small text or close-up faces. Use Native for those.
Seedance 2.5 or 2.0?
Use 2.5 for consistent characters across many references and more complex scenes. Use 2.0 for a lower price: the same top-up buys about 74% more upscaled 2.0 video at 1080p. Upscaled runs 4 to 15 seconds on both, with up to 9 reference images.
How do I track a clip?
POST /v1/videos returns the job’s id. Poll GET /v1/videos/{id} until it completes, then download from GET /v1/videos/{id}/content. Send us the id and we trace the job end to end.
My results look different from another platform. Why?
Check three things. Resolution: 720p holds less detail than 1080p. Model: compare native with native, not with Upscaled. Randomness: video generation varies run to run, so use the same prompt, references, duration and aspect ratio, and run each prompt two or three times.
Am I charged for failed generations?
No. We hold the estimated cost while a clip renders and settle to the actual cost when it finishes. If the generation fails, the hold is released and nothing is charged.
What does $20 make?
At 1080p Upscaled and Tier 1, about 75.8 seconds on Seedance 2.0 (15 five-second clips) or about 43.6 seconds on Seedance 2.5 (8 clips). At 720p, about 186 seconds on 2.0 or 107 seconds on 2.5.
Is there a subscription?
No. You prepay a balance in USD by card. Purchased credits last 12 months. Large volume? Talk to sales for a lower price.
When do I move to Tier 2?
When your cumulative top-ups reach $1,000; Tier 3 starts at $10,000. Gifts and credit grants count toward the total. Every later clip bills at the lower rate; the console shows the rate that applies to you.
